Parking & Access

We have ample parking spots around our facilities, including handicap spaces for our friends with special access needs. Access to our worship auditorium is by stairs. For our friends who have limitations using stairs, we also have a lift located at the rear of our facilities. We have an attendant to assist those who need access by the lift.

Clothing

We are not casual about our relationship with God or one another. Those we take very seriously. However, the attire that is generally worn is casual, but some like to dress up a bit when they come to church. It is up to you.

Music

The music in our services is a blend of contemporary and traditional music.  Typically, we will sing a hymn or two along with contemporary songs.

Teaching

At Lake Murray you can expect to hear a gospel-centered sermon in which biblical truths are explained and applied to everyday life. We take the Bible very seriously, and it is our desire to be faithful to the biblical texts as we teach them, apply them to daily living, and allow them to point our hearts to Christ. Normally, we teach through books of the Bible (expository preaching), but at times we do topical teaching.

Communion

We celebrate communion (the Lord’s table) each week. This is a time for us to reflect on the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and it keeps the gospel front and center in what we do. After the teaching and during a time of singing, people are invited to get the elements (bread and fruit of the vine), and then we eat and drink them together. We worship in this way in all of our Sunday services.

Children & Youth

For your family’s convenience, we have childcare for little ones along with children’s and youth programs during our worship service:

  • Private lounge with audio broadcast for nursing mothers.
  • Nursery and preschool childcare.
  • Children’s program for all kids, K-5th grade.
  • Youth program for all students, 6th-12th grade.

We also have a monthly Family Worship Sunday on the first Sunday of every month. On these Sundays, nursery and preschool care is still available, but all other children and youth (K-12) stay in the auditorium for the duration of the worship service with their families (for elementary-age kids, sermon-based activity bags are available as you walk in, including crayons, stickers, and activity sheets that go along with the sermon).
