FOR ALL STUDENTS, 6TH-12TH GRADE
What we are doing in the midst of social distancing:
- WEEKLY STUDENT DEVOTIONALS:
- WEEKLY HANGOUTS ON ZOOM:
- Every Thursday @ 6:30 pm
- Email email@example.com for the meeting link and/or meeting ID & password
- THURSDAY NIGHT YOUTH GROUP:
- 6:30-8:30 PM.
- In the Youth Room.
- Our Thursday nights typically consist of a hangout time with one another, a fun icebreaker, worship through song, a gospel-centered lesson, small group discussions, and a fun group activity/game.
- SUNDAY MORNING YOUTH CLASS:
- 9:30-10:15 AM.
- In the Youth Room.
- We first gather in the main auditorium to worship through song with the entire church (9:00 AM). We then move to the Youth Room for our own age-specific lesson based on the same text that is being taught by our Senior Pastor in the worship service.
- Note: The first Sunday of every month is our Family Worship Sunday; on these Sundays we stay in the main auditorium with our families and friends for the entire worship service.
We frequently schedule fun events to further connect with one another. We enjoy things like beach bonfires, parties, movie nights, trips to theme parks, bowling, laser tag, broomball, camps, etc. There are also opportunities for our youth to reach out to the local community and abroad with the love of Christ (see our outreach page for more info).
We use the Remind app to keep students and parents up to date on everything happening at Pipeline. Stay informed! Send the message @PipelineYG to phone number 81010.
You’ll receive a welcome text from Remind. It will ask if you want to download the app, but you won’t need to do that; you’ll still receive all notifications via text. You can, however, download the app if you wish to receive email reminders and/or push notifications on your smartphone (you can pick notification preferences within the app). Just know the app is not necessary to receive text reminders.
MEET THE TEAM
Marttell Sánchez Cabrero, Youth Pastor
Hi, I’m Marttell, but a lot of friends also call me Marty. I’m a local San Diegan who grew up in the area of Chula Vista. I have an awesome wife named Sandra, and together we have two elementary-age boys: Kaleo and CJ. For theological training, I went to Southern California Seminary, where I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies (2012) and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry (2017). I love going on dates with my wife, playing soccer with my kids, going on runs, walks, and hikes with Charlie (our German Shepherd Dog), having family movie nights, having friends over, eating plain vanilla ice cream, and drinking pour-over coffee. You can usually catch me at Brew Coffee Spot, my favorite coffee shop right here in La Mesa. Most of all, I love Jesus and people, so I hope you’ll visit us—I’d love to get to know you and your family!
Hey guys, I’m Aaron. I’m a local San Diegan, and I come from an awesome Jesus-loving family of 14. That’s right, along with my parents, I’m one of 12 kids! Growing up, I was predominantly home-schooled, but I also went to H-Town Christian Academy, where I played varsity football. I’m now a foreman at a local automotive shop, so if you ever need help with your car, let me know. Here at Lake Murray, I serve with our church’s worship band on Sunday mornings and with our youth band on Thursday nights. For fun, I enjoy board games, video games, playing flag football, and spending quality time with my wife, Caroline. I hope to meet you at Pipeline!
Hi, I’m Caroline! I have lived in San Diego for the majority of my life, and met my husband, Aaron, here, as well. We have been married for a little over two years now, and we enjoy doing lots of things outdoors together and also playing games with people. I am a middle school science teacher, and I love spending time getting to know kids and helping them learn and grow. I have grown up going to church with my family, but my passion for the Lord really grew during my time in college at UC Davis, which is where I started serving in ministry. I love relaxing and talking over a cup of tea or coffee, so let’s get together!
Hi, I’m Autumn! I am the second oldest of seven in my family, and I practically grew up in this church. Through the years, I have been serving in children’s ministry, homeless outreach, out-of-state mission trips, and Alzheimer’s care. I have been serving as a leader in Youth Group for over 3 years now. I’ve graduated from Heritage Christian School and have attended Grossmont College, and I’m studying to be a Registered Behavior Technician. I enjoy a nice walk outdoors and relaxing over a nice cup of coffee (or boba tea). I also love to hang out with friends and family, so I’ll be looking forward to hanging out with you, too!
Hey, I’m Brianna. I have been attending Lake Murray since 2002 with my large family of 9 that has been actively involved in ministry ever since. I graduated from Heritage Christian School in June 2018 and am now in my second year at Southern California Seminary pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. Recently, God has given me a heart for missions, and I am interested in doing missionary work once I graduate. Not only do I live the sad gluten-free life, but I am also a typical “old soul” who enjoys reading, ice cream, spending time outdoors, and relaxing to 70’s soft rock. I also spend time helping in different ministries through our church, such as AWANA, homeless outreach, and spending time with Alzheimer’s patients. Coming from such a large family, I love kids and enjoy the friendships I have with the students at Pipeline. Overall, I’m excited to be growing with all the individuals at Pipeline and at Lake Murray.
